Modeling of biological networks using Visinets is easy because it doesn't require knowledge of mathematical formulas. Building models is done through graphical means, i.e. using simple click and drag operations to connect network components. Visinets modeling philosophy is particularly suited for bench scientists in biomedical research.
Visinets has a built-in causal mapping simulation engine that runs within the webbrowser allowing you to dynamically simulate the network while you are changing the structure and behaviour of the components. A plot of the simulation is shown and updated in real time when any changes to the network are detected.
Visinets helps scientist view pathways in a dynamical and biologically meaningful way. The signal propagation through pathways can be visualized and recorded in a "live" mode thus allowing Visinets to be also used for the illustration and animation of biological processes.
